Multi-Effect Distillation Stills

Multi-Effect Stills

At FTS Lifecare, we design and manufacture Multiple Effect Stills according to the latest cGMP standards to produce Water for Injection (WFI). Each of the units comes with multiple boiling columns. These columns are also called effects and hence the units are called Multi-Effect Stills. The first column produces pure steam, which is then condensed and re-distilled in the following columns. This helps to reduce operational costs.
We also offer Double Tube Sheet (DTS) exchangers that provide swift and effective heating for evaporation and cooling for condensation processes. Condensation is done by using thin-falling film technology.
You can also produce clean steam with the first column. This could be done differently or simultaneously. All our pressure vessels are designed according to PED regulations and are highly safe and durable.
Most of our stills have a special labyrinth-separator at the top of each column. This separates the steam generated by the evaporation process from the entrained substance in the steam itself. Hence, you will get a pure, “dry”, pyrogen-free steam, condensed to produce quality Water for Injection.
The quantity of the columns does not have much of an impact on the quality or the output but determines the overall consumption of the equipment. Generally, the higher the capacity of the columns, the lower would be the overall consumption of the equipment.

Single Effect Stills

At FTS Lifecare, we also produce single effect distillation units which are capable of producing both pure steam and WFI, depending on your operational requirements. Our Single Effect Distillation Stillcomes with an electrical heat source or steam as the primary heat source.
We use heated deaerated feed water to create saturated steam. Droplet entrainment is controlled with methods like centrifugal and gravity separation.

Vapour Compression Distillers

We also offer vapour compressions Distillers which are capable of produceboth hot and cold distillate. They are designed to give you significant savings on energy costs and with practically no need of cooling water. Vapour compression distillers operate with electrical heating and/or plant steam.
